Reborn baby jenny
Reborn baby jenny was reborned by JULIES BABIES . I no longer have my reborn dolls but LOVE reborns so very much! And may collect again in future! Thought i would shaire a few pics of jenny , and other reborn related pics x

Youtube and reborns
I love youtube ! I often watch reborn videos on there. I love watching the reborn baby clothes hauls, and also watching tutorials on how they are made! Of course i love watching anything reborn baby related , I do have my own channel with some poor videos lol. I think i will work on it actually in the next few weeks and make an effort to upload better ones at some point soon.

sharing some reborn pics!
reborn baby dolls
Looking through my pictures on the pc i found some cute pictures of my reborn dolls. some rehomed now :( and some now in the loving care of my daughters!
thought ide share them on the blog :0)
spike and abby the fairy special reborn baby dolls! both shawna clymer sculpts and both reborned by JULIES BABIES.
both reborned with ghs paints and weighted with fine glass beads. baby scented and hand rooted mohair. julie brownbridge did an amazing job. i get all my reborn dolls from her.
spike has hand rooted eyebrows also. both take magnetic pacifiers.
above and below-taking full advantage of my daughters teddy bear collection lol....
and some gentle hair brushing! this doll actually has hand rooted hair and longer at the back. she is from the huiti babys nono sculpt.also reborned by julies babies.

Reborn bits and bobs
Reborn pacifiers are easily made and i have a nice little collection . Mine take magnetic pacifiers . Ive made a few of these and it dont cost much to be hounest ! Its a great bordom breaker to , and fairly quick and easy :0)
I recently brought a pack of pacifiers (4 in a pack) from my local pound land!! And some elephant themed ones from a charity shop for 50p! (again -pack of 2!) . I simply pull the teat as far as i can , whilst cutting it away as im pulling. then put a blob of E6000 in the middle followed by a small magnet (search reborn magnets on ebay ) . You can cover the magnet with a tiny piece of surgical tape / felt to protect the baby from scratching ect. SIMPLE!
some reborns have spike pacifier that are just inserted. and then theres stick/y dummys usually stuck with a small sticky pad that wont damage babys paint. And Of course those how have neithor !
The magnetic dummys contain rare earth magnets and can be dangerous to those who have pacemakers ect . so particular care must be taken around those who may be affected! Often reborn girl dolls may have magnets in there head for hair bows also !
I love the variety of themes / colors of pacifiers and i often let my girls dress my babys gently and add the pacifier and other bits in order to look nice and sit back on the display shelf! :0)
plus theres the bonus you can "bling" up the pacifiers with gems ,bows , ribbon ,and beads if you wanted to !
Although of course reborns are not reccomended for children due to being highly collectable and also due to fillings used in the doll......most reccomend age 14 and over. I point out my small girls aged 7 and 9 , play with them very gently , and very occasionally in my presence ! :)
DOES ANYONE MAKE THE PACIFIER CLIPS FOR REBORN DOLL PACIFIERS?
I have seen these recently , and think there great ! I am going to consider getting the bits to make them ! youtube has some good tutorials and at the moment ebay even sell a pacifier making starter kit ! awsome :)
Then Ive seen this reborn doll "fake formula" making! I havent tried this yet , but its a great photo prop for the dolls :0) and adds to the realism . I managed to buy 2 baby bottles from pound land just to try it out!!! It appears on youtube they are using "white" creamy colored washing liquid ! then covering open neck with cling film , and super glue-ing the very tip of the teat (from inside) before screwing on the lid . hmmmm......strange but clever. But also sold on ebay "Reborn fake formula" . Ive seen variations in whats used for juice too ...still need to try it out!

Cute little reborns!
The NEW interest!
A few months ago i came across a reborn doll on ebay and totally fell in love ! :) Ide never heard about these dolls before and was really surprised by them! I now have 3 (although im selling 1 at the moment...and did have 5 but sold another before that also! weather changes mood ,haha)
My first was a pixie boy called "spike" who i adore and is going to live with me forever (hands off!) and most recently princess "Harper " lol-another keeper ! both my dolls were reborned by the same reborn artist , and she is amazing! (julie brownbridge -JULIES BABIES).
I also quickly brought a reborn kit (ANALISA) And on my first attempt managed to melt her poor arms!! the rest of her is in tact thankfully....but im having problems buying replacement arms!! if i could get them shes would almost be finished :(
Then typical of me ....before i get to finish my first creation ...i buy 2 more kits!!! phil donnaly tara and roisin :):) So ive started them too ! unfortunatly i still am learning at each step and making boo boos :( And i still have loads of questions about this whole reborning thing! so if anyone can help ide greatly appriciate it :)
With my first doll i used genisis heat set paints in flesh 08 only...but she looks so pale! She does however look like a pretty doll for a first attempt..almost imagen her in a studio ghibli film ! she has that look. with this next 2 i am first doing a coat of flesh 07 and then carrying on with flesh 08 ...which is looking better. im unsure of neutralising washes full stop! hmmmm........HELP! :)
so besides a good skin technique i also need to know if the final layer should be a seal ....to seal the paint or not! this could be a long , long learning process! :)
I have however raised a few eyebrows (and laughs!) buy picking up many baby outfits on the shop sale rails ! being a "big" girl i was also asked when i was expecting ! haha , seriously wasnt impressed at the time !
My neigbour has even given up a black bag of baby clothes that used to belong to her son all in aid of my new reborn collecting! according to her they are "ugly little things" but hey! still rather generous indeed.
Now ....This reborn doll thing has had alot of bad press! I dont think its fare! Its no harm to anyone and after all they are pieces of art to treasure for many years. alot of time and effort has been put into creating them and i personally think everyone is a masterpiece! Ok i admit you wont catch me taking them for a stroll to the park (too much even for me!) but then again each to their own! I am a little fed up with the "reborn haters" ! The documentary about them didnt help much....! and only the other day i came across a forum with hundreds of comments just regarding those who collect these dolls as freaks , and adding how they look dead ! well thats ridiculous ! love or hate them -They truly are pieces of art!
Just imagen passing one of these dolls down to your little girl, then her onto hers and so on ! beautiful!
Ide love to read up on anything reborn if you could suggest anything , ide appriciate it! So far i know Niki holland from still moments nursery does tutorials on youtube . shes been a big source of help and ive learnt alot from them! I recommend looking her up and watching her vids! :)
I know there are reborn forums too. but im still not getting some of the answers lol.
whats the worse part of reborning for you? and if you dont reborn already ...are you looking to give it ago? I cant wait to actually compleate a doll !

Long way to go ! but they are a lovely sculpt and i cant wait to see how they turn out!
so far i have given them veining , x1 flesh o7 , x3 flesh 08 and some mottling ...
Analisa fully painted , rosey cheeks and eyes inserted ! my first attempt ...
And the analisa sculpt with her hair rooted ! and hair sealed and eyebrows......she needs a a hair cut/style ! Now to try and find arms ! :)
Besides "lifelike" looking reborns , i guess there are reborns who are beautifull DOLLs. and then most recently i noticed reborn baby vampires and zombies ! well its nice to see a variety :) Im tempted to make a little reborn zombie actually......!
